This week for writing, we had to write a explation report on how parts of our body work I chose the eyes.
Today I’m going to teach you how your eyes work! Did you know that your eyes mainly depend on your brain? That is because your eyes are practically the windows to your brain.
The eyes are used to see things and receive visual data, in the eyes there are five different parts that help you see clearly. First is the cornea which is clear and helps your eye focus the light. Next is the pupil located in the center of the iris that allows light to strike the retina. Then there is the iris. It controls how wide the pupil is, behind the iris is the lens of the eye. It helps focus the light coming into your eye, so you can see things clearly.
When that is all working together properly the light gets to the back of the eye. That's important because at the back of the eye there is the retina, there are over 130 million tiny cells in a retina, that are sensitive to light. When these cells detect light, these cells turn into electrical signals, they eventually get into the optic nerve which is kinda like a cable connecting the retina to the brain. That is how your eye works. It's really hard to believe that all happens in less than a millisecond.
Pretty awesome right.
