That is so interesting that you know about your great grandparents meeting in Egypt in WW2. I went to Egypt once - it was an amazing country but it would have been so hard fighting in WW2.
I, too am NZ European and we don't celebrate many of the European holidays either - I feel much more like a Kiwi as my ancestors have been in Aotearoa for many, many years! We do celebrate Christmas though! Did you have a lovely Christmas?
